Ipsy Glam Bag Vs Sephora Play Box

Sephora play Vs Ipsy Main Image.jpg

I really love getting these awesome subscription boxes in the mail every month; It's a little something I can always look forward to. I have been getting Ipsy and Sephora Play! for a while now and I really like them both, but if you only want to pay for one of these boxes than this blog post is for you. In today's post I will be comparing both subscription boxes for the month of August so you can better decide which one is for you!:)

Ipsy Glam Bag

Price: $10
Number of items: 5 + a small makeup bag
Size of Items: deluxe sized samples and one full size product
Rate: 8 out of 10

For this month, I received mostly products I liked and a couple I wasn't so into. I love getting skincare samples so I was head over heels about the Promise Organic Facial Lotion and the Hey Honey Facial Scrub. I also really loved the Makeup Forever Mascara. I wasn't totally in love the eyeshadow from TheBalm, I think the shade just wasn't for me... it was a little too sparkly. The Hikari Bronzer (full sized) is a really cool product though, I would wear it here and there but I don't see it as an everyday thing for me because of the pink undertones. I just don't think It goes with all of the looks I normally wear. Lastly, I usually like the little makeup bag I get every month but this one was a little too cheesy for me :p

Overall this month's products were great, just one product I wouldn't use and I wasn't into this month's makeup bag.

Play! by Sephora

Price: $10.68
Number of items: 5 + a perfume sample and a Sephora points card with 50 extra points
Size of Items: deluxe sized samples only
Rate: 9 out of 10

For this month's Sephora play box, I liked all of the products I got except one, which was the Living Proof Dry Shampoo. I LOVE Dry shampoo but this one just left my dark hair with that white powdery residue. I could tell it would work really well but just not for dark hair. I really Liked the rest of the products. The Lancer Method Skin Polish was awesome, It left my skin feeling so smooth and refreshed. I also liked the Hourglass foundation, It went on so easy and the color was great but after a while my oil started to shine through, but that pretty much happens with every foundation I've tried. The Clinique Mascara was really nice too but I have yet to find a mascara I didn't like. :D The Dolce & Gabana Light Blue perfume smelled great and I will definitely be using the Micro mini Beauty Blender a lot for all the small areas like around my nose and eyes.

Overall I loved this month's Sephora Play Box more than this month's Ipsy Glam Bag because I got more products I really liked but it's up to you to decided which one you'd like more.

I hope this post was informative and helped you decide between the two subscription boxes! Let me know in the comment section below which one you choose.
